4.3 Downloading Images
NOTE
In this example, four TEs connect to USB ports 1–4 respectively.
To download images by using the IDT, perform the following steps:
Step 1 Force TEs to enter a download mode, and then connect the
TEs and the corresponding USB ports. Two download modes are provided:

Upgrade download mode: Press multiple keys at the same time

or run the adb reboot bootloader command to enter the fastboot download mode.

On-chip download mode: Enable the BOOT_MODE and GND pins to short-circuit.

Then the PC displays all USB virtual serial ports.

For a board that does not download images before, it can enter the download mode
-
without BOOT_MODE and GND pins short-circuited.

Step 2 Choose Operation > Start or click
on the toolbar-
The IDT automatically downloads images, as shown in Figure 4-4 to Figure 4-6.

Step 3 Wait until downloading is complete.
If images are downloaded successfully, the window shown in Figure 4-7 is displayed
If images fail to be downloaded, the window shown in Figure 4-8 is displayed. XX in
ERROR (XX) indicates the error ID. For details, see appendix B "Error List."
